KimMed Private Hospital
KimMed was established in 2013 as a Sub-Acute Hospital but was converted into an Acute facility from the 15 of January 2019 after an 18- month long process through DOH and BHF.
We installed an X Ray machine as part of our Rehab and soon to be Casualty department.
KimMed grew by 27% bed occupancy in the past year mainly due to a steep growth of the Rehab bed occupancy.
KimMed Rehab provides Acute physical rehabilitation inpatient care for patients challenged with a wide range of disabilities caused by disease or injuries, including: Strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, major joint replacement and fractures (hips, knees and shoulders), debilitating neurological illnesses (e.g. Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain-Barré), amputations, trauma (major orthopaedic trauma).
Our teams of professionals work together to design, implement and monitor a rehabilitation program that meets each patient’s specific needs.
The patient’s family is as important as the patient. Throughout the patient’s hospital stay, we conduct progress meetings with family members to educate them in proper care practices, to ensure patients receive a consistently high standard of care, even after discharge.
Kimmed is the only Acute Physical Rehabilitation hospital in the Northern cape
KimMed is also the only hospital in the northern cape with 3 licenses and 3 practice numbers in one building
